Mounties To Get New Courts!!
Some 25 Years after the Netball courts at Mounties were first laid, they`re getting a long overdue facelift!!
Early in the new year, work will begin to re-lay the original two full courts and also the recently added half court. The court surface will no longer be asphalt but Plexipave, the official surface of the Australian Open tennis and also the outdoor courts at Netball NSW`s headquarters, The Anne Clark Centre (pictured).
The new surface, to be installed by Court Craft, will not only provide increased safety to Mounties Netball members but will also ensure more training sessions can take place throughout the season. In the past few years, the club has suffered during periods of inclement weather due to the tired surface being deemed unsafe for training. However, the new Plexipave surface will dry more quickly and also provide safer footing meaning training can usually continue during light rain or immediately following rain.
Due to the anticipated finish of the works being during Mounties scheduled grading period, all members are requested to check the website on the day of grading to confirm where the session will be held (please link to the event in the calendar). All gradings during the week of 8 February will be held at Woodward Park (LCNA`s courts) and should works run over schedule, future sessions may also be moved.
The Mounties Netball Club wishes to sincerely thank the Mounties Group for their support and funding which has made the court resurfacing possible. Without their generous annual support and support for special projects such as this, Mounties Netball would not be the major club it is, nor be able to provide as much as we do to our members each year through presentation gifts etc.
